Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin is a biography about Willie Bentley and how he figured out a way to share snow with the world . One day on a Vermont farm in the 1860’s there was a boy that had a dream . His dream was to share snowflakes with the world . He picks flowers for his mom and gets other nature but he just can’t share snow because when he touches the snow it melts . But one day he comes up with an idea , he shows his parents a microscope camera in a magazine . For his 17’th birthday his parents buy him the microscope camera . Snowflake Bentley worked very hard to take pictures of snowflakes . He starts to show slideshows, give speeches . Then finally he got a book published of his work with snowflakes . 6 weeks after he got his book published he walked 6 miles in a snow storm, got pneumonia and died . Even though he died, he became famous around the world because he never gave up his belief that his work was important .
